SERVICE TEXT

Tonight we want to sing some songs that portray that life of service not only in our worship but also in our daily lives.

The song we just sang should reflect our attitude, not only here as we sing but as we go forth. I looked up the meaning of beguile. I think the writer of the words captured well what our fixation on Christ can do for us when faced with our daily problems of this world. Notice:

We need to look to the happiness of others and we can best do that by our own happiness and our example. Are we really happy serving. This should also be reflected in our daily lives. Hopefully I have left for my family, my children, my wife a legacy of happines in all aspects. I seek to make my wife happy, not just because the house is happier when the wife is happy, but because that is the right thing to do.

Eccl 9:9

The joy of happines and a home filled with happiness for my Children to know and appreciate. But not just my family, Others should see our Joy at serving God. Some wil think we are crazy, others who knows? Point is this We are Christians, God's children and it should mean something. Our not being of the world should show, in our family live, in our work life, oure social life. Who are we?

We want to first notice attitudes of joy in our worship. David said, "I was glad when they said to me, 'Let us go into the house of the Lord..'"

FIRST PRAYER

Notice in the last song we sang -- the last phrases of verse 3 and the last phrases of verse 4.

Next we want to notice songs which reflect our attitude of teach others as we sing.

Col. 3:16

Eph. 5:19

Isn't a basic premise of I Cor. 14 that in our speaking, praying and singing we should be edifying the others. Even the unknowledgable visitor falls down to worship God.

We want to sing some songs that encourage people to do something. What we call invitation songs often fall in this category.

There are also songs which teach and encourage by our telling, hopefully with joy and exuberance, what God through Christ has done for us.

Hebrews 13:15-16

A question we want to be asking by our life and example is in the title of our invitation song. The joy of serving Jesus is for all who will receive it.
